Rooted in the passion that sparked our vibrant community in 2012, we are dedicated to building a welcoming, global network of bird enthusiasts of all ages, united by a love for birdwatching and photography. Our vision is to inspire an enduring commitment to these remarkable creatures, believing that what you come to love, you will strive to protect.
Our History
In 2012, I had a conversation with Jim Hailey about starting a friendly Facebook group dedicated to sharing bird photography in Texas. Our goal was to create a welcoming community that would foster our shared passion for birds, birdwatching, and photography. What began as a modest idea has since blossomed into one of the most vibrant online birding groups, boasting over 100,000 members and featuring hundreds of new photos posted every day. From the outset, we committed to protecting the group from any form of commercialization to preserve its pure, community-driven spirit. Now, with opportunities arising to offer merchandise and birding trips, I've launched this website as a respectful extension of that original vision—honoring the group while providing new ways for enthusiasts to connect and engage.
